who?
Patrick Treharne is a multidisciplinary artist and educator whose work explores themes of grief, resilience, and the tension between permanence and impermanence. Born and raised near the cornfields along the Mississippi River in Iowa, he began creating art at a young age through private studio courses before pursuing a degree in Art Education at Converse University where he was among the first men accepted to the historically women-only college. Primarily a ceramicist with a focus on production pottery, Patrick also works in 2D media including graphic marker-on-metal pieces that reflect his personal journey through loss and recovery. His art confronts the heaviness, absurdity, and dark humor of life’s challenges using materials and processes that embody the dialogue between what endures and what fades. His upcoming show Shit Happens offers an intimate reflection on grief, survival, and the ways art allows him and his audience to process, endure, and connect.
