SHit Happens
My work is rooted in grief, resilience, and rediscovery. After the loss of the person I felt closest to in 2022, I walked away from art completely, convinced I could never return. It was through the support of a mentor and the grounding process of ceramics that I found my way back, eventually confronting memory and loss through drawing and painting. Working with marker on metal allows me to explore the tension between permanence and impermanence — the weight of what remains and the fragility of what fades. These pieces serve as both a visual diary and an emotional release, blending darkness, absurdity, and reflection to process the question that lingers in all my work: what would life be like if she were still here?
